Learn more about the Foundation's unique Pre-Hire Trade Training Program, which assists VSRA Members with finding entry-level workers in the fields of welding, pipefitting, electrical, outside machinist, and coatings.
The Pre-Hire Program is an 80- or 120- hour (trade depending) training course that teaches students basic maritime trade skills, along with VSRA Safety Orientation, Work-Authorization Forms, OSHA 10-hour Maritime, and Emergency First Response certification.
The course also focuses heavily on "soft skills" - attendance, promptness, work ethic, attention to detail, teamwork, safety culture, and so forth.
