Contracts Seminar: Ethics & Standards of Conduct

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Course #7615 (September 14-15)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course 7615 in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. The completion card is valid for 5 years at which time the course must be repeated. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

The Safety Management Board (SMB) meets the second Thursday of the odd months at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

NAVSEA Cableway (September 18-22) CANCELLED

This course is under the oversight of AMSEC and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector Certification (September 18-22)

VSRA is one of the few organizations authorized to instruct this very specialized course.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month.

Communications Committee Meeting

This special, extended meeting of the VSRA Communications Committee will feature presentation of the Public Awareness of Ship Repair & Shipbuilding survey completed in August. Lunch will be served.

Fiber Optics 6000-2900 Supervisor and Quality Assurance (QA) Training (September 25-28)

This course is under the oversight of KITCO Fiber Optics. The course provides NAVSEA Fiber Optic Training in support of the Navy Shipboard Fiber Optic Training Certification Program (NSFOTCP). NSFOTCP Modules are taught in accordance with training curriculum requirements, as specified in Section 5 of NAVSEA Drawing 8477552A.

22nd Annual Safety & Health Seminar

VSRA hosts a Safety & Health seminar each year for the benefit of its members and employees. This event is sponsored by the Safety Committee. This is a dynamic day of presentations, activities and networking for employees who ensure their personal safety and those around them.
