Marine Electrician

Tidewater Staffing is seeking a J1/J2/J3 and J4 Electrician!! Job duties include but not limited to: Repair or replace wiring equipment or fixtures Examine electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes Use power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment Diagnose faulty systems or parts, using equipment and hand tools to find the reason for a breakdown Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or parts to spot hazards or defects Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to see the placement of wiring or equipment Work on the installation of ground leads and connect power cables to equipment Direct or train other employees to put in, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures Perform routine and annual maintenance Job requirements: Must be able to obtain security clearance for access to government facilities Tidewater Staffing Offers: Weekly Pay Full-Time Employment Multiple Shifts Insurance Benefits Long-term Job Opportunities OSHA Training | Training Programs Direct Deposit Tidewater Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer*

Marine Electricians may also prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment while ensuring compliance with safety codes
Education
Typically a High school diploma or GED is required, along with technical or post-secondary electrician's degree and license.
Qualifications
Typically, employers require:
- Minimum of five years verifiable work experience in the ship repair industry
- Basic trade specific knowledge, such as n understanding of power tools and their usage
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the testing and repair of electrical components
- Reliability and dependability
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
