Wärtsilä Defense Inc. is seeking highly motivated individual with skilled experience preferably in the Marine Industry. Currently, Wärtsilä Defense, Inc. has an opening for a Project Manager, in Chesapeake, VA Responsibilities: Interface with external customers, internal departments, and suppliers to assure that all contract requirements and terms are fulfilled in the required sequence. • Ensures that each contract obligation is completed, reviewed and delivered on time in a high quality at a controlled cost format. • Ensures that progress billings are presented to customer in accordance with purchase order provisions or contract requirements and those payments are received according to terms. Review and approve purchase documents to assure compliance with contractual requirements and specifications before submitting to suppliers • Ensures that purchasing sources have been developed and a clear understanding of product requirements has been agreed upon. • Ensures that purchase documents are accurate and complete in accordance with customer requirements and any Government approvals are received. Develops estimates and proposals using standard best business practice and Wartsila guidance. • Develop man hour and material estimates. • Review all quotes from outside sources and ensure best pricing has been developed. • Responsible for contract data requirements (CDRL’s) • Familiarity with Earned Value Management compliance. Manages Projects to include document review, customer liaison, sourcing, purchasing, and progress determination from start to finish of multiple projects that are going on. Working with all necessary groups to manage customer demands, material availability, and work completion to bring the project to a successful close. Additional Requirements – Must be able to qualify for and maintain a DOD security clearance if needed. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings. Successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. Education & Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent experience.
