At the conclusion of the May 4, 2017 VSRA Seminar on Cybersecurity & Safeguarding Covered Defense Information (CDI), the group in attendance voted to support the formation of a new VSRA Committee on Cybersecurity. The first meeting of this Committee will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 9:00 AM at the VSRA Office (150 Boush Street, Suite 802, Norfolk, VA 23510).
The VSRA Cybersecurity Committee was formed to address the ever-changing landscape of Cybersecurity, including DFARs regulations and Navy requirements. The Committee meets to discuss best practices for compliance, identify helpful tools and resources, and act as a voice for the Ship Repair Industry in the realm of Information Technology and Cybersecurity.
In particular, the Cybersecurity Committee has been established to assist VSRA Members in navigating the new federal requirement in effect January 1, 2018: DFARS 252.204.7012 Safeguarding CDI and Cyber Incident Reporting.
