VSRA supports many community initiatives and with VSRF volunteers activily participate in activities for students and the community. From the Elizabeth River Learning Barge to hosting tours for students and teachers, this is a growing part of our outreach. In 2012 we will be featuring some of the programs avaialble at Nauticus, the Mariner's Museum and other organizations geared towards engaging students in Maritime knowledge and career options.
The Elizabeth River Project is committed to sustaining the quality of the river front. Many of our member companies are River Stars and contribute not only funding, but participate in clean-ups and plant wetlands. Learn More.
The Learning Barge - VSRF contributes activities and funding to visiting students and member companies contribute maintenance services on the barge to keep costs down.
Nauticus - VSRA is a Platinum Sponsor of the foremost Naval Museum on the East Coast. We proudly host our Annual LEGO Ship Repair competition there and many of our member companies also support this jewel on the waterside.
American Red Cross of Southeastern Virginia partners with many of our member companies on the Ready When the Time Comes program for disaster preparadness. VSRA is proud to be a sponsor of this program.
