FSG Specification Writer 4 Newport News-Virginia-United States 29384BR External Job Description Position Specifics: This positon is contingent upon contract award. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a CONFIDENTIAL level security clearance. Responsibilities of this positon will include developing equipment Technical Manuals in SGML format. Revising and changing Technical Manuals as a result of modernization and maintenance of shipboard systems/equipment. Recent experience developing revising Technical Manuals and/or recent experience as an operator/maintainer of U.S. Navy ships is preferred. Experience with LCS class is highly desired. Prepares specifications from engineering change notices, customer specifications, and/or published data sheets. Maintains customer specifications files; reviews customer drawings and data; translates customer language into standard procedures and product flow. Most work is performed in an office environment with the possibility of some time spent aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Able to work on and climb ladders. Able to work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Environment may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
