Requirements Manager

Overview The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking a Requirements Engineer to join our Philadelphia Engineering Office. The GBS Group designs and delivers high technology services and solutions to most advanced naval and maritime ships, as well as to special purpose platforms and assets. Our office is located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, which is a dynamic urban development, offering the Philadelphia region a unique and centrally-located waterfront business campus committed to smart energy innovation and sustainability. The Navy Yard has over 20 acres of parks, one mile of waterfront trail and is located less than one-half mile from the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, as well as the retail/entertainment center Xfinity Live!. Position Summary An experienced engineer to support project leads in developing requirements documents, project planning documents, requirements traceability, and serving as the requirements manager for two new systems and one established program. Successful candidate will have extensive Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) experience and requirements management experience. The successful candidate must be able to work independently to review and update requirements and configuration management documentation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Work well in a team, as well as independently Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems Identify and involve relevant stakeholders Monitor and control requirements and configuration for industrial control system Participate in peer reviews and record and track action items Provide guidance to help meet project goals and improve processes Maintain requirements traceability matrix for three separate projects at various life-cycle stages Participate in or prepare documentation for SEP audits as needed Maintain current knowledge of engineering practices Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned Minimal Travel Qualifications Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science or related field Minimum 5-years’ experience in requirements management Required ability to develop and implement a requirements management plan Required knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Preferred experience in configuration management Preferred experience with Navy Modernization Process (NMP) Preferred experience with Navy Systems Engineering Process (SEP) Preferred knowledge of a requirements tracking system Working knowledge of Naval Sea Systems Command organizational structure, program offices, technical warrants, military/DoD standards Desired Characteristics: Ability to demonstrate effective teamwork experience and strong communication skills, both written and verbal Reasonable problem solving ability Attention to detail and meticulous logging of requirements and configuration changes EEO Statement The GBS Group is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
