Human Resources Committee Meeting

The Human Resources Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m., at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Parking is available in the Town Point Parking Garage on Main Street directly across the street from the World Trade Center building.  Please bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

Contracts Committee Meeting

The Contracts Committee will meet the first Thursday of each month at 8:30 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Course #7615 (May 7-8)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course 7615 in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. The completion card is valid for 5 years at which time the course must be repeated. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

NAVSEA Cableway (May 7-11)

This course is under the oversight of AMSEC and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Southern Virginia Regional Partner Exchange on Cybersecurity & the Current Threat Landscape

A limited number of seats are being held for VSRA Members at the upcoming Southern Virginia Regional Partner Exchange on Cybersecurity & the Current Threat Landscape, held by the DoD Cyber Crime Center / DoD Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Collaborative Information Sharing Environment (DCISE). UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR ATTENDANCE, AND THOSE WISHING TO ATTEND MUST RSVP!

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month.

National Maritime Day

This day reflects the gratitude that Americans have for the Maritime Industry and it’s many benefits to this Country. It also recognizes ships and seafarers who have held a special place in our Nation’s history.

Emergency First Response Certification (May 24)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA compliant and internationally accepted. This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (May 24)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Cybersecurity Committee Meeting

The Cybersecurity Committee will be meeting the 4th Thursday of the following months: February, March, May, June, September and October  from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the VSRA Office, 101 W.
