Metalskills is now looking for qualified applicants to interview for a Structural Welder position for Naval new construction and maintenance. If you meet the qualifications below, please apply!
Requirements:
- Must have Maritime OSHA 10
- VSRA training preferred
- WAF training preferred
- You must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen
Experience:
3+ years commercial/naval experience as a first class welder. This is not an entry level job.
Structural Welder Required Skills:
1. Multi-pass. All position fillet and butt welds using the following processes: SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding).
2. Heating - Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch.
3. Experience working in a physically demanding environment (shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, staging, etc.)
4. Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
5. Ability to properly use fillet and butt weld gauges.
