~MUST HAVE MULTI PIN CONNECTOR EXPERIENCE~ Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Possess and use hand tools as required to perform electrical tasks: a. Screwdriver (flat tip, & Phillips) b. Pliers (diagonal, Needle Nose, Linesmen, Channel-Lock) c. Wire Stripper & Knife d. Lug Crimpers (stakons) e. Tape Measurer/Ruler f. 3/8” Socket Set g. Voltage Tester h. Banding Tool 2. Perform removal and installation of various electrical system components IAW drawings: a. Overhead lights b. Receptacles c. Heaters d. Distribution Panels e. 1 MC Speakers 3. Remove, install, inspect, repair, replace, troubleshoot, and test electrical equipment (with little or no supervision required). a. MTR Controllers b. Interior Communication Systems c. Distribution Systems 4. Take and read measurements a. Insulation resistance – using a 500 volt megger b. Amps – using a clamp-on amp meter c. Volts – using a volt meter d. RPMs – using a strobe tach or hand held tach 5. Prep, tie-in, and connect cables to switchboards and load centers.

Marine Electricians are typically responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring and equipment, as well as inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs. Marine Electricians may also prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment while ensuring compliance with safety codes
Typically a High school diploma or GED is required, along with technical or post-secondary electrician's degree and license.
Typically, employers require:
- Minimum of five years verifiable work experience in the ship repair industry
- Basic trade specific knowledge, such as n understanding of power tools and their usage
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the testing and repair of electrical components
- Reliability and dependability
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
