Material Controller Planner

: In this position, you are responsible for planning and monitoring the materials and products used by the Watercraft /Small Boats Division. You ensure that the company has sufficient materials needed to produce its products. You also manage the flow of inventory and track materials that are being used by small boat technicians.

 

Job Requirements/skill sets:

  • Determining the required materials and generating requisitions.
  • Assist in building Bill of Materials (BOM) for Request for Proposals (RFP).
  • Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
  • Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
  • Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, etc.
  • Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns.
  • Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products.
  • Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.

 

Education Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in Unanet would be a plus.

 

 

Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access:  U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for access to military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.

Information
Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.

Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
