Senator Kaine, Rep. Forbes Hold Industry Roundtable Discussions

On February 29, United States Senator Tim Kaine visited Norfolk and held a special roundtable discussion with industry leaders. Senator Kaine spent much of the hour-and-a-half discussion listening to concerns from VSRA Board Members on a wide-range of issues from workload projections to workforce development. A month later, on March 31, United States House of Representatives Member Randy Forbes (VA-4) met with the Board of Directors at the Town Point Club in Norfolk, and also listened to and addressed concerns focused on the Ship Repair Industry. Both meetings allowed industry leaders to speak directly to elected representatives in Congress on the state of the ship repair industry in Hampton Roads, and reiterate the importance of the health and vitality of the industry to the community and nation as a whole.
