Overview

Monthly Meeting: The committee addresses contractual issues raised by VRSA members and VRSA customers. For example, representatives of the Navy and Coast Guard often attend the monthly meeting. From time to time, these representatives ask the committee to help their agency develop an implementation plan for a new program. Recently, the committee has worked with agencies on new Past Performance Evaluation programs and new surface preservation programs. Similarly, VRSA members routinely ask the committee to discuss and attempt to develop a VRSA position on a specific issue. For example, members have recently raised issues related to bidding estimated quantities and testing for hazardous wastes when cleaning aboard ship. The committee works to develop a position to present to the VRSA board for recommended action.

Seminars: The Contracts Committee presents an annual series of six seminars throughout the year addressing topics of interest to our members. Past topics have included Ethics and Standards of Conduct, Cost Accounting Hot Topics, Proposal Pricing strategies, Small Business programs, Insurance coverage issues, and Protests and Claims updates. The cost is $50 per session, or all six sessions for $250. Companies sending three or more participants will receive a reduced rate of $40 per participant per session.
