Overview
It shall be the policy of the Virginia Ship Repair Association to promote sound safety, health, and environmental practices. Safety, health, and environmental performance are core values of the organization. These values are believed to benefit business, employees, customers, and the community.
The VSRA Safety Committee will strive to encourage the following practices thought education and mentoring of its members:
- Conduct business in a manner that protects employee safety, occupational health, the public, and the environment.
- Strive to eliminate all accidents and environmental incidents.
- Ensure safety, health, and environmental considerations are a priority in the design, manufacture, use, and disposal of existing products and planning for new products, facilities, and processes.
- Maintain a commitment to comply with safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Work with its employees, suppliers, customers, contractors, and partners to promote responsible management of products, processes, and services.
- Encourage communication with its employees, suppliers, customers, neighbors, and stakeholders on managing safety, health, and environmental issues.
