General Description / Language to Use for Job Postings: Full Time Individual experienced in management, in the specialized field of ship repair and marine coatings application; in the discipline of Environmental, Health and Safety. Reports to: Director of Operations Responsibilities: • Oversees the overall safety management and safety programs • Identifies resources needed and assigns qualified EH&S inspectors to projects • Oversees EH&S audits (internal and external) • Oversees and maintains EH&S records • Works with the Top Management to maintain required personnel training IAW Federal, State and Local requirements • Be primary author of environmental compliance program or have documented training on the contents of said program • Ensure the required EH&S standards are met on multiple projects • Possesses a thorough understanding of marine coatings and ship repair EH&S requirements, in particular, US Navy and US Navy contractor and facilities requirements • Manages environmental reporting requirements IAW Federal, State, Local and specific contractor facility requirements • Accomplishes a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) study on every project prior to execution • Responsible for Hazardous Material storage and handling program and training • Participates in industry EH&S program events • Responsible for informing key personnel in a timely manner of all regulation changes that affect operations along with ensuring all manuals are current and compliant with current regulations Minimum Educational Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the ship repair industry as an EH&S inspector and a • Minimum of 2 years’ as a supervisor or manager • Must have OSHA 500 or 5400 Training or C-3 and OSHA 30 training Minimum Previous Experience: • Must have a minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial painting industry or related construction safety experience Minimum Additional Training: • Must pass an occupational physical and respirator fit test Other: Must be a US citizen Must be able to access government installations Must be able to walk, crawl, climb ladders and climb stairs without restriction
