Our Navy Must NOT be Neglected!

VSRA has kept the heat on Congress to listen to the long-term, irreversible effects Sequestration will have on the strength of our Navy and the ship repair industry. Our industry needs you to be engaged, informed and voice your concerns. We are asking VSRA members and the Hampton Roads Community to contact their members of Congress and urge them to enact appropriations bills for FY13 that fund critical mission support, including ship depot maintenance and stop the long-term damage the sequestration funding cuts would have on fleet preparedness.

CAPT Bill Galinis Speaks at the February Membership Lunch

Captain Bill Galinis reviewed the NSSA four major product lines as ship readiness assessments inspections and CINTS, fleet technical assistance, deport level maintenance and modernization and oversight, and changing environment. The challenges are surface ship maintenance brokering, planning, and estimating the work, the struggle to meeting milestones and getting the req done on time and balancing the fix with return on investment.

Our guest speaker for the March General Membership Meeting will be Senator Frank Wagner.

Frank W. Wagner was elected to the State Senate of the Virginia General Assembly during a special election in December 2000, winning nearly 70% of the electoral vote. He currently represents the 7th Senatorial District in Virginia Beach, having won re-election in 2003 and 2007.

7th Annual LEGO Competition!

7th Annual Lego competition has officially been launched! Application packets have been mailed to all Public and Private schools in our area. Just as we have in past years, this year we will need technical advisors, judges, and volunteers. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and represent your company!
