Safety Suggestion Award Program

The Safety Suggestion Award Program seeks to award employees of VSRA member companies who recommend improvements that create a safer workplace! Nominations occur on a quarterly basis and a yearly award winner is selected from quarterly award winners. The Safety Suggestion Award Program also rewards the nominators who take part in those improvements for implementation across the port.

2026 Human Resources Seminar

Each spring, the Virginia Ship Repair Association Human Resources Committee presents the annual Human Resources Professional Development Seminar. This seminar covers a variety of topics essential to the HR professional, and is typically approved for three general credit hours through the HR Certification Institute and SHRM.

2026 Member Summer Social Event

The VSRA Member Summer Social will return in 2026!
This networking social is open for free admission to all VSRA Members and features an evening of entertainment, food, drinks, and camaraderie among the ship repair industry. 
Any VSRA member can attend this social, so sponsoring this event is great for getting your eyes on other businesses within our industry!

30th Annual Safety & Health Seminar

Our Safety and Health Seminar is VSRA’s largest professional seminar, featuring a dynamic day of presentations by industry safety experts. Sponsors of Silver or higher get to man a booth within the seminar to show off demonstrations and hand out merchandise. VSRA and our amazing group of seminar volunteers go above and beyond each year to share important information, focused for deckplate workers!

ABIH has previously awarded CM credit which can be claimed for this event.

2026 Contracts Committee Seminar Series

Each fall, the Virginia Ship Repair Association Contracts Committee proudly presents the annual Contracts Seminar Series. This series of informational seminars focuses on key issues related to contracting with the federal government as well as topics in business development, and features the renowned annual Ethics & Standards of Conduct Seminar.

20th Annual Tradesperson of the Year Awards

Established in 2006, VSRF’s Tradesperson of the Year Awards recognize excellence in the ship repair industry workforce. Two winners are selected: a Senior Tradesperson with five or more years of industry experience and a Junior Tradesperson with fewer than five years experience in their chosen trade field. Sponsorship of this program allows continued acknowledgement of excellence in our workforce while getting your logo alongside recognized skilled professionals!

Admirals Night

Attention all hockey fans! Get ready!

VSRF is offering an exclusive sponsorship evening at the Scope Arena with the Norfolk Admirals this year! The Admirals boast a following in the Hampton Roads region. This night is an excellent chance to promote your business offerings to local families and sports fans. By providing tickets for your staff, your company can partake in an exhilarating sports event through sponsorship.

20th Annual Digital Innovation Competition

The Digital Innovation Competition is designed to introduce available careers to the emerging ship repair workforce through S.T.E.M. education. Competing middle school students in the local area use CAD software to build a ship component while learning about associated trade careers. Sponsorship of this event helps offset the cost associated with holding the event, such as participant t-shirts, lunches, and awards!

2026 Ship Repair Race Night

Drivers, start your engines!
Langley Speedway hosts Ship Repair Race Night, which regularly attracts 600+ industry representatives and 3,000+ local race fans. This event is a great place to advertise job openings, products, and services. Ticket packages allow you to treat your employees to a night of fun and camaraderie at this action-packed Saturday night at the races!
