Captain Bill Galinis reviewed the NSSA four major product lines as ship readiness assessments inspections and CINTS, fleet technical assistance, deport level maintenance and modernization and oversight, and changing environment. The challenges are surface ship maintenance brokering, planning, and estimating the work, the struggle to meeting milestones and getting the req done on time and balancing the fix with return on investment. He briefed us on the ongoing enterprise initiatives as total ship readiness assessment, integrated product team development and workforce development return of journeyman training. He believes that ship repair is a team sport and we need a strong team. Captain Galinis also provided the membership the latest updates on the impact they are facing as a result of operating under a continuing resolution and the growing threat of sequestration. His closing message was to focus on things we can control.
