Virginia Ship Repair Association is excited to announce that our new President, retired Rear Admiral John Polowczyk, has officially began his tenure with the Association on Monday, August 11th.

Mr. Polowczyk’s extensive experience, from his distinguished 33-year career in the U.S. Navy to his leadership of the White House Supply Chain Stabilization Task Force, makes him exceptionally qualified to lead our Association. We are confident his vision and expertise will be invaluable in advocating for our member companies and advancing the interests of the ship repair industry.

We were honored to host Congressman Rob Wittman at our recent General Membership Luncheon on August 12th. His message reinforced one of our Association's key advocacy priorities: securing a bigger, more stable workload for Virginia's shipyards as the Navy sends more work overseas and to other homeports.

On Friday, August 1st, the Virginia Ship Repair Association bid a fond farewell to Sallena Nikitas. Sallena had been a foundational member of our team since 2014, and while she has departed from her role as Training Director, that title only scratches the surface of the incredible impact she had on VSRA and the entire ship repair industry.

The Virginia Ship Repair Association is pleased to announce that Captain Daniel Hemminger, the Commanding Officer of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), has been invited to be the guest speaker at the General Membership Luncheon on Tuesday, September 9th.
