Vision
The Virginia Ship Repair Association will lead the ship repair industry of Virginia to economic success and competitive advantage by providing quality service to our members and their customers. In doing so, VSRA will be recognized as the premier association in the national ship repair industry.
Mission
The mission of the Virginia Ship Repair Association is to maintain focus on and coordinate resources to address and resolve the issues, challenges, and opportunities facing the ship repair industry in Virginia. We will continue to work with government and other ship repair partners on standardization across the industry.
Guiding Principles
The Virginia Ship Repair Association will be driven by the following guiding principles, and will encourage these principles among its members:
- Commitment to safety, quality, security, environmental protection, and cybersecurity
- Ethics and integrity
- Workforce development
- Customer focus, teamwork, value
Strategic Goals
The Association goals are in priority order:
- Workload (Primary Goal): Work towards an increasing and stable workload for members over the next five years.
- Workforce (Secondary Goal): Maintain the positive workforce development progress and switch the narrative from “There is a Workforce Problem” to “We have a Workload Problem.”
- Infrastructure and Processes (Tertiary Goal): Create an environment for recapitalization of infrastructure and technology while reforming government processes to strengthen ship repair in Virginia.
