Kevin Terry has over 30 years of experience serving in and working in support of the U.S Navy. Kevin is the General Manager of General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk, leading and managing the operations of over 1500 employees. NASSCO-Norfolk has facilities and personnel working at the Ligon Street facility (Norfolk), the Harper Road facility (Portsmouth) and in the Pacific Northwest (Bremerton/Everett). He has devoted his career to improving ship material readiness with effective maintenance and modernization programs which support the operational Fleet.
Kevin was appointed General Manager of General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk in July of 2015. Upon his retirement in 2014 from the U.S. Navy, he joined NASSCO as the Pacific Northwest Program Manager responsible for initiating the start of the new CVN MSMO contract at Everett and Bremerton Washington. Prior to pursuing a career in the private sector ship repair industry, Kevin served as the Commanding Officer of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding Newport News, responsible for the Navy’s Aircraft Carrier and Submarine construction programs. During his naval career, Kevin also served on the staffs of COMNAVAIRLANT and COMNAVSURFLANT and shipboard on the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) as Reactor Officer, USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74), USS JOHN RODGERS (DD 983) and USS NIMITZ (CVN 68).
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University and an Engineer and Master degrees in Nuclear Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a board member on the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA), the Puget Sound Ship Repair Association (PSSRA), as well as serving as the Programs Chair for the American Society of Naval Engineers, Tidewater Chapter.
Kevin and his wife live in Portsmouth and have two grown children.
