Kevin Terry has over 38 years of experience serving in and working in support of the U.S Navy. He has devoted his career to improving ship material readiness with effective maintenance and modernization programs which support the operational Fleet.
Kevin joined General Dynamics NASSCO in June 2014, as the Pacific Northwest Program Manager. He was responsible for initiating the start of the new CVN MSMO contract at Everett and Bremerton, Washington. In July 2015, Kevin was chosen as the General Manager of General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk, leading and managing the operations of over 800 employees. NASSCO-Norfolk has facilities and personnel working at the Ligon Street facility (Norfolk), the Harper Road facility (Portsmouth), as well as, at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Norfolk Naval Station.
Prior to pursuing a career in the private sector ship repair industry, Kevin served as the Commanding Officer of Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Newport News, responsible for the Navy’s Aircraft Carrier and Submarine new construction and repair programs. During his naval career, Kevin also served on the staffs of COMNAVAIRLANT and COMNAVSURFLANT and shipboard on USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) as Reactor Officer, USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74), USS JOHN RODGERS (DD 983) and USS NIMITZ (CVN 68).
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University and an Engineer and Master degrees in Nuclear Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA) and a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE).
Kevin and his wife live in Portsmouth, Virginia and have two grown children and two grandchildren.
