Tom Taylor started Bay Metals & Fabrication, LLC in 1999 and has almost 40 years of experience in the ship repair and the maritime industry. Tom is an U. S. Army veteran and last stationed at Fort Story in Virginia Beach, VA as a Drill Sergeant. He started his shipyard career in 1980 and graduated from the Norshipco Apprentice School. Tom has served in numerous positions throughout his 19-year career at Norshipco.
He started BMF in 1999 mainly as a steel and pipe subcontractor support company to the local shipyards. Over the last 20 years he has guided BMF to grow to over 200 people. BMF is now a full service Prime and Subcontractor supporting the shipbuilding, ship repair, and commercial industry locally as well as abroad.
Tom has served on numerous boards and supports several local charities. He works with EVMS and provides minority scholarships to women in the Hampton Roads region. He currently lives in Virginia Beach with his wife Angela, their three golden retrievers and has a daughter that lives locally.
