Rene Doiron is an accomplished and respected Senior Leader with over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, business systems, budgeting, scheduling, leading teams, and customer relations in the ship repair and fabrication industry. Rene’s background is complemented with a Bachelor of Naval Architectural Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick.
Rene started his career in 1991 as a front-line production Supervisor in a new Construction/ Shipbuilding environment at Saint John Shipbuilding where he led production teams in planning, scheduling, and execution on the Canadian Patrol Frigate newbuild program. In 2000, after a short time in the Offshore industry in Houston, Texas, Rene joined Vigor Industrial, a Ship Repair company in the Northwest as a Project Superintendent. While there, he moved on to senior levels of project management, and ultimately assumed his role as Vice President for the company’s Ship Repair Division in 2005.
In 2018, Rene put his experience in helping business units grow, and joined East Coast Repair & Fabrication as its President. As President, he provides strategic leadership, and establishes long-range strategies, goals, and policies for growth throughout the company’s current locations in Virginia, Florida, and California, while advancing the Company’s mission, objectives, and connected culture.
Rene and his wife Nadine live in Virginia Beach. They have one daughter, two sons, and four energetic grandchildren that keep them youthful.
