Fiber Optics 6000-2250 NAVSEA Terminate and Testing modules (November 13-17)

This course is under the oversight of KITCO Fiber Optics.  The course provides NAVSEA Fiber Optic Training in support of the Navy Shipboard Fiber Optic Training Certification Program (NSFOTCP).  NSFOTCP Modules are taught in accordance with training curriculum requirements, as specified in Section 5 of NAVSEA Drawing 8477552A. 

6000-2250- NAVSEA Terminate and Testing modules - Developed to certify Fiber Optic Technicians that are responsible for terminating and testing fiber optic cable assemblies aboard US Navy Ships.  This 5-day, 40 hour course includes the Core (4 hours), Single Terminus (Light Duty) module (8 hours), Multi-Terminus (Heavy Duty) Module (16 hours), Optical Testing module (12 hours) and associated Policy Letters, Engineering Reports and Method Updates.

* Latest update to MIL-STD-1678 w/Change 1 states: “4.4.3 Change effectivity. Navy Shipboard Applications, Certification. Certification requirement shall become effective 1 January 2018. Fiber optic personnel certifications obtained from a training organization on the CFOTL prior to 1 January 2018 shall not expire until 1 January 2022. Fiber optic personnel certifications obtained on or after 1 January 2018 shall expire per Table 1306-III.”  KITCO Fiber Optics is certified and listed on the Certified Fiber Optic Trainers List (CFOTL).
