New Year's Day (VSRA Office Closed)

The VSRA office is closed today in observance of New Year's Day.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (January 5-6)

The OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry course awards the 10-Hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, shipyard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Security Committee Meeting

Committee Chair, Leigh Kennedy, will be presenting a review of 2025 and looking at what’s ahead in 2026.

Human Resources Committee Meeting

Our January meeting will be focused on planning the Committee’s activities for 2026.  In particular, we’ll decide:  (1) what topics we want to have addressed in our annual April HR Seminar; and (2) what speakers we’d like to hear join us for it.  We’ll also come up with a list of topics and speakers for our Committee’s regular monthly meetings in 2026.  So please join us with your thoughts about the 2026 Seminar and your ideas and suggestions for making our 2026 slate of monthly meetings as informative and useful for as they can be for our members.  Looking forward to having you join us and to hearing lots of good ideas in this first session of the New Year!

VSRA has partnered with Virginia Wesleyan University to provide a 2-and-a-half day Leadership course, upon successful completion attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion from Virginia Wesleyan University sponsored by the VSRA.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held every month.
