Shipboard Cableway Inspection (February 3-5)

This course is under the oversight of HII Technical Solutions and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (February 4-5)

The OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry course awards the 10-Hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, shipyard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Our presenter for our February 4^th Human Resources Committee Meeting will be Andrew Miller from the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.  Mr. Miller will speak on what our member companies need to know about staying on the right side of the law with regard to employee citizenship and work authorization, with particular emphasis on the latest I-9 and E-Verify compliance tips.  We hope you can join us for what promises to be both a timely and valuable presentation.

Contracts Committee Meeting

For our February Contracts Committee meeting, Paul Hawkins and Michael Gulland of Gentry Locke will provide an update on the False Claims Act.

Emergency First Response Certification (February 19)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Introduction to Blueprint Reading & Technical Drawing (February 23-26)

This course is designed for rising welders, pipefitters, ship-fitters, electricians and workers who need a working knowledge of blueprint technology, symbols and design features specific to ships.
