Human Resources Committee Meeting

Due to that fact that we had two Human Resources meetings in April (April 6th & the seminar on April 13, 2016), we will not be meeting in May.  

Contracts Committee Meeting

The Contracts Committee will meet the first Thursday of each month at 8:30 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Quality Assurance ISO-9001-2015 Subcommittee Meeting

The VSRA QA ISO 9001:2015 Subcommittee Meetings will be held every other Thursday from 3/10 to 5/19, at 1:00 p.m. at Alliance Technical Services, Inc, 400 West 24th St, Norfolk, VA 23517.

Quality Management Board (QMB) Meeting

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.  The QA Committee session will begin immediately following the QMB session.

Emergency First Response (May 11)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (May 12) CANCELED

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

The Safety & Environmental Committee meetings are on the 2nd Thursday of every ODD month at 9:00 a.m. at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month. The Chairman of the VSRA Board and the VSRA committee chairs report to the general membership at the monthly meeting, followed by a guest speaker's presentation. Each member company may have its designated representatives present at the general membership monthly luncheon meeting and is welcome to invite company guests.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Course #7615 (May 18-19)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for  Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course 7615 in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and enviromental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructos are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. The completion card is valid for 5 years at which time the course must be repeated. Our instructors an OSHA accepted certified to conduct this class and grany the award of certification cards. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

National Maritime Day

This day reflects the gratitude that Americans have for the Maritime Industry and it’s many benefits to this Country. It also recognizes ships and seafarers who have held a special place in our Nation’s history.

NAVSEA Cableway (May 23-27)

This course is under the oversight of AMSEC and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

Communications Committee Meeting

The Communications Committee meets the 4^th Wednesday of the EVEN months, at 9:30 a.m., at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.
