Fiber Optics 6000-2250 NAVSEA Terminate and Testing modules (October 2-6)

This course is under the oversight of KITCO Fiber Optics. The course provides NAVSEA Fiber Optic Training in support of the Navy Shipboard Fiber Optic Training Certification Program (NSFOTCP). NSFOTCP Modules are taught in accordance with training curriculum requirements, as specified in Section 5 of NAVSEA Drawing 8477552A.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Course #7615 (October 2-3)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course 7615 in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. The completion card is valid for 5 years at which time the course must be repeated. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Human Resources Committee Meeting

The Human Resources Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m., at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Parking is available in the Town Point Parking Garage on Main Street directly across the street from the World Trade Center building.  Please bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

This course is designed for rising welders, pipefitters, ship-fitters, electricians and workers who need a working knowledge of blueprint technology, symbols and design features specific to ships.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting - CANCELLED FOR OCTOBER

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month. For the month of October, 2017, the VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting is CANCELLED in lieu of the VSRF Golf Tournament.

Emergency First Response Certification (October 19)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (October 20)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Communications Committee Meeting

The Communications Committee will hold a special meeting on October 25, 2017 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM in the VSRA Office (150 Boush Street, Suite 802, Norfolk, VA 23510) to continue discussion of the VSRA Perception & Awareness Survey and planning for the Association's communications strategy.
