Emergency First Response Certification (January 8)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Quality Management Board (QMB) Meeting

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (VSRA Office is Closed)

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (January 21-22)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Virtual VSRA General Membership Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the odd numbered months. The General Membership Luncheon meetings are held every month.

Cybersecurity Committee Meeting

Join the VSRA Cybersecurity Committee for a virtual meeting live via Zoom. 

FBI Supervisory Special Agent, Aaron Pinder, of the Norfolk Cyber Squad, will introduce himself to our committee and identify how our companies can work closely with the FBI to fight cyber criminals. Agent Pinder will discuss recent breeches in our area specifically targeted at the government contracting and ship repair industry. He will give us another reminder that our companies are targets for criminals no matter the size of our company.

We will also be kicking off a CMMC Preparation Working Group this year to target specifics in the compliance requirements. The goal of the working group will be to allow our members to work and tackle specific issues/questions together and bring the knowledge back to the entire committee. The last few meetings great questions have been posed and this will formalize getting answers to these questions and ensuring all members are informed of the answers.
