Cableway Improvement Program (CIP) Installation, Repair and Inspection (May 3-7)

This course is under the oversight of HII Technical Solutions and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (May 3-4)

The OSHA-10 hour course awards the 10-hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, ship yard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Emergency First Response Certification (May 10)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (May 11)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Quality Management Board (QMB) Meeting

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Introduction to Blueprint Reading & Technical Drawing (May 17-21)

This course is designed for rising welders, pipefitters, ship-fitters, electricians and workers who need a working knowledge of blueprint technology, symbols and design features specific to ships.

Cybersecurity Committee Meeting

Part of the DoD CMMC Implementation included standing up an independent CMMC Accreditation Board to operationalize and provide training and assessments to the Defense Industrial Base. Mr. Matthew Travis, the newly appointed CEO of the CMMC Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB), will speak at this meeting. Mr. Travis has the responsibility to operationalize and provide training and assessments to the Defense Industrial Base.
