Shipboard Cableway Inspection (February 3-6)

This course is under the oversight of HII Technical Solutions and upon successful completion attendees will receive a NAVSEA Cableway Certification card. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway training and certification to students.

OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry Course (February 3-4)

The OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Industry course awards the 10-Hour certification card and meets all of the mandated regulations for the Maritime Industry (OSHA Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1915) course in a format that specifically addresses the challenges and environmental conditions specific to the shipyards. In addition, shipyard specific regulations and issues are covered in depth. Instructors are authorized by OSHA endorsed certification programs. Cards are issued through the Instructor's certifying body. All book, material and certification costs are covered in the course fee.

Human Resources Committee Meeting

The Human Resources Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m., at the VSRA Office, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Parking is available in the Town Point Parking Garage on Main Street directly across the street from the World Trade Center building.  Please bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

Workforce Development Committee Meeting

The Workforce Development Committee will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the even months at 10:00 AM in the VSRA Offices (101 W Main St, Ste 5500, Norfolk, VA 23510).

President's Day (VSRA Office is Closed)

Standard Items (February 17-18)

This is a 2 day course that explains the history and purpose of the NAVSEA Standard Items.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

Emergency First Response Certification (February 19)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response Refresher (February 20)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Introduction to Blueprint Reading & Technical Drawing (February 23-26)

This course is designed for rising welders, pipefitters, ship-fitters, electricians and workers who need a working knowledge of blueprint technology, symbols and design features specific to ships.
