Submarine Electronic Technician

VT Group is seeking Submarine Electronic Technicians in Virginia Beach, VA with travel to locations including but not limited to Bremerton, WA; Kittery, ME; Groton, CT and Pearl Harbor, HI. Summary: Will have a thorough understanding of the submarine installation process, the use of common and specialty hand tools, and General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment. Accomplishes tasks as assigned by the Installation Supervisor in accordance with company Work Instructions and procedures. May supervise less experienced installation team members. May be assigned the duties and responsibilities of other positions for which qualifications are met. May act as Installation Supervisor on routine or low risk installations. Duties: •Discusses standard layout and assembly procedures and problems with senior level technicians and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units. •Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance to supervisor. •Sets up standard test apparatus and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability. • Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components. •Removes and installs the following: Power, signal (copper and fiber), and RF cabling. Equipment, equipment racks, and mounting hardware. Connection boxes, switches, and indicator lights. Power panels, enclosures, and connection boxes. •Moves material and equipment to and from the installation site. •Assists in fit-up and weld preparation. •Sets up boundaries and clean areas. •Stands fire watches. •Paints new and disturbed cabling, lagging, foundations, mounting brackets and hardware, and structure. Requirements: HS Diploma 2-5 years experience Active Secret Clearance Ability to travel

Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacturing of electrical equipment such as electric motors, radar and navigation systems, communications systems, and power generation equipment. Electronics engineers design and develop electronic equipment, such as broadcast and communications systems—from portable music players to global positioning systems (GPS).
Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience in electronic systems development
Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to develop schematics, layouts, BOM, write technical specifications, develop device and system level specification for internal use and/or external vendors or consultants

Experience in the Following:
Design of complex power systems, analog/digital, PLC, sensory/control circuits
Experience working with electro/mechanical technicians for parts and system integration
Interface with outside vendors, consultants, and driving external design resources
Proficiency in development of schematics and layouts
Proficiency in use of AutoCAD and or Inventor 3D modeling and collaboration
Knowledge of electrical codes and related regulations
Organize, analyze, interpret, and evaluate electrical engineering problems and prediction of results
Estimate labor or material costs from blueprints or work plans
Work cooperatively with others
Review or check the work products of others to ensure conformance to standards
