Planner/Estimator

Duties include taking all ship’s force, Alteration Installation Team (AIT), and shipyard work, including service and repair routines, modernization and preventative maintenance actions, and presenting as work requirement statements at the SWLIN and Line Item level. This is currently recognized as a prime function of the Planning Activity organization, and ultimately results in the development and issue of availability specific, integrated specification work package. Provides detailed cost estimates, to the paragraph and trade level, for developed work specifications and new work written by planners. Maintains and manages cost estimating guide. Reports to Planning Supervisor. JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLSETS: Senior Level Requirements: Qualified candidates must have 10 or more years’ experience developing production Planning documents and estimates for work executed on US Navy, Coast Guard, Army, or MSC Ships. Should have experience with JFMM 4E requirements. Mid-Level Requirements: Qualified candidates must have 5-10 years’ experience developing production Planning documents and estimates for work executed on US Navy, Coast Guard, Army, or MSC Ships. Should have experience with JFMM 4E requirements. Junior Level Requirements: Qualified candidates must have 3-5 years’ experience developing production Planning documents and estimates for work executed on US Navy, Coast Guard, Army, or MSC Ships. Education: Candidate should have at least two (2) years of education in a technical/vocational school, apprentice training, or equivalent. Bachelors of Science in an Engineering field preferred. Education can be substituted for experience as applicable. SECURITY CLEARANCE: Candidate should currently possess or be able to obtain a Government security clearance.
