Install Technician (Motorola)

Overview The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking an Install Technician (Part-time with the possibility of becoming full-time based on business needs and performance) to support our growing technology business. The GBS Group is a commercial and government engineering services firm with a variety of contract types. This position will focus on our commercial business with the schedule of Monday - Friday working an average of 16-20 hours per week between the hours of 5:30am - 3pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Disassembling and reassembling vehicle’s exterior body parts and interior panels Properly mounting and securing components to vehicles Routing wires and cabling into vehicles Splicing wires and/or soldering connections to equipment and components Terminating connections on radios, LED lights, sirens, radar components, electrical components Troubleshooting, diagnosing and/or replacing electrical components Documenting all work completed on work orders accurately Maintaining a clean, organized and safe working area Qualifications Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications: Minimum of 2 years with telecommunications or mobile radio installations/testing (Motorola Solutions preferred) Must have a working knowledge of automobile/rail electronics and proficiency using basic hand and power tools. Must be flexible enough for periodic travel and stay overnight when required Must be able to pass security clearance check as some access to secure locations may be necessary Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test and have a clean driver’s record. Desired Characteristics: Has work experience as an automobile mechanical, professional car audio installer, and/or military experience on Land Mobile Radio Communications At least 2 years of experience installing mobile radio equipment onboard rail cars and public safety vehicles - Preferred EEO Statement The GBS Group is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
