Marine Mechanic

Marine Mechanic Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises, and its subsidiaries, have an immediate need for an Engineering Marine Mechanic to support its Maritime Modernization program. Job Description: Provide repair and maintenance support for Small Boats. Repair, maintain, and identify complex problems and solutions relating to Small Boats to bring systems to fully operational status. Repair, troubleshoot and assess material on all boat equipment in accordance with OEM specifications specific to make and model including but not limited to: Cummins Diesel Engines Hamilton Waterjet Model HJ292 Hamilton Waterjet Model HM651 Twin Disc Marine Gear Transmission Twin Disc MG5075SC Service and Installation MTU Diesel Engine or Detroit Diesel Engine Westerbeke 33KW EDE D-NET Generator Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Must have at least 2 consecutive years of experience repairing and troubleshooting equipment on RF Patrol Boat Equipment. Must have moderate understanding of technical requirements. Must have the ability to identify technical problems and solutions. Security Requirements: Must have an Active DoD Secret or an Interim Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet and maintain access to military facilities and shipyards. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel -about 25% If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. (More information regarding REAL ID can be found: https://www.dhs.gov/real-id ) Physical Requirements: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering. Picking, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, and Visual Acuity (depth perception). Exert up to 10- 25 pounds of force occasionally. Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia).
