FSG Matl Dist Handling Support 3 (Driver/Warehouse) HII FLEET SUPPORT GROUP (0480) Chesapeake-Virginia-United States 34000BR External Job Description The selected candidate’s primary responsibility will be driving company vehicles such as flatbed or heavy duty pickup trucks to multiple jobs sites (including military installations) with the purpose of pick up/drop off, delivery and/or transfer of company materials to assist with contracted tasking. Loading and unloading cargo will be part of daily duties. During times of low delivery needs the selected candidate will be required to perform manual and/or clerical duties within the warehouse. Position Specifics: Candidates must have the following experience to qualify for this position. • Must have professional experience driving a medium GVMR vehicle (between 10,000 – 26,000 pounds) and/or higher. • At least 6 months professional experience driving a forklift. • Ability to prioritize pick up and deliveries to save time and costs. • Must be able to obtain/maintain base access credentials for the ability access to several bases and shipyards in the VA area. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
