The selected candidate will be supporting our Systems Integration Operation working on naval ships & submarines in FSG facilities and company offices. They will be responsible for performing Quality Assurance inspections in accordance with company and Government procedures, including all documentation and reporting requirements. They will also have responsibilities for developing, maintaining and reviewing Quality assurance work packages for company tasking. Selected candidate will be required to travel to shipyards, military bases and administrative offices located around the country when not assigned to a local task. Per diem available based on location when on travel, travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company. There is potential to work overtime depending on contract need.
Positions Specifics: Candidate must have the following to qualify for the position.
• Candidate must have a thorough working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items, NAVSEA TS9090-310(series) AIT manual, and HII-FSG QMS processes and procedures.
• Must be highly experienced with quality control inspections and tests and show proof of previous QCI certifications.
• Must have an active secret clearance, ability to obtain/maintain access to all public and private shipyards.
• Must be able to travel 50% of the time, though uncommon may include last minute notification.
• Must be able to work extended hours including late shifts and weekends.
Performs required inspections mechanical, electrical or structural components or systems to ensure conformance with the quality requirements for Naval reactor plants and associated systems, in support of ship construction, overhaul, refueling and repair contracts. This job reports to a Supervisor, Inspection and works under general supervision. Work is performed within the confines of standardized Company and industry policies, practices and procedures. This job has decision-making responsibilities with regard to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed and the determination of measuring equipment used. The incumbent has the authority to halt work temporarily that would affect the reactor plant. Errors could be critical and adversely affect the Company’s competitive position in the nuclear field. inspects and performs tests on mechanical, electrical or structural components and assemblies related to reactor plant operators. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.

High School and 7 years relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years relevant experience. May require certification.
• Experience with developing, reviewing, and approving seven section AIT QA work books is preferred.
• Candidates with current or prior Non Destructive Test Level II Visual Testing (VT), Penetrant Test (PT), Magnetic Particle Test (MT) and/or Ultrasonic Test (UT) certifications preferred.
