The selected candidate will provide technical support for availability planning, execution, and development of Ship’s Force work packages and overall Depot Availability Work integration and scheduling onboard Aircraft Carriers. Provide training, recommendations, and guidance to Ship’s Force personnel in industrial availability management, work package development and Ship’s Force Production Teams’ composition and tracking. Develop and maintain availability measures of effectiveness.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs. Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements. Supports and participates in negotiations with customer. Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources. Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters. Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.
•Must have 6 Years relevant experience with Bachelors; 4 Years relevant experience with Masters; An additional 4 years of specific job experience with a HS diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this job. This experience is additional to subsequent relevant years of experience listed with the job's education requirements. Example: If this job required a Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience the equivalency would equal HS diploma + 9 years job related experience.
•Candidate should have experience in a Senior role in Combat Systems Department equipment, systems and maintenance procedures on a CVN.
•Must have a strong background associated with the shipboard systems and must have experience on the Availability project team.
•The position requires a strong technical writing ability and proven capability to communicate effectively to all levels of the Chain of Command. Computer skills must include proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
•Must have an active DoD interim secret clearance or higher and be able to obtain/maintain base/yard access credentials.
•Must be a US Citizen
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
