1st Class Marine Electricians

Nationwide Skilled Trades is in need of a 1st Class Marine Electrician for a large shipyard in the Virginia area!!! Employee should be expert in Maritime Electrical work. Needs to have installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems for ships. Must have current DBIDS Minimum of 4-5 years in the maritime industry REQUIRED. Required PPE: Steel toed boots, respirator, hard hat, and safety glasses. · Should know how to locate reference lines. · Construct and fabricate elements, using hand tools and specifications. · Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and templates. · Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment ( i.e. motors). · Pull insulated wires or cables through the passage to finish circuits between boxes. · Confirm correspondence to assembling and safety codes. · Inspect systems, equipment to spot hazards, defects, or adjust/repair, and confirm compliance with codes. · Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to put in, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. · Must be able to use hand tools and shop machines like power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, like oscilloscopes and ammeters. · Should be able to put in, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. · Must pass pre employment drug screen and background check. Qualifications

- Minimum of five years verifiable work experience in the ship repair industry
- Basic trade specific knowledge, such as n understanding of power tools and their usage
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the testing and repair of electrical components
- Reliability and dependability
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
