Crate Builder

Job duties include but not limited to: Building skids, sides and ends to box crates Packing freight into the crates Assemble lumber pieces into crates for shipping customer orders Use drill, hammer, electric saw, nail gun, etc. Utilize tape measure and other measuring tools Clean and organize the warehouse Requirements include: Experience in assembly or carpentry Previous experience with power tools; nail gun, electric saw, drills, etc Reliable transportation Must be able to get to work in inclement weather, early morning starts, work nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Information
Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.

Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
