Shop Technician/Mechanic (Heavy Equipment)

Rapid Prep is a growing national company that services the abrasive blasting industry and is looking for a motivated shop technician/mechanic with the following skills and qualifications: -Candidate must have good driving record and no criminal record. Technician will be required at times to service equipment in local government facilities. No applicant with a felony conviction will be considered due to the access requirement -Basic Troubleshooting of 12 VDC, 120-460 VAC Electrical systems and controls is required - Experience with electrical systems and controls is preferred. 120vac-480vac systems. -Basic knowledge of diesel engines, ability to change oil, fuel filters, fuel lines and adjust PTO’s., hydraulic systems is preferred -Ability to operate forklifts and shop equipment -Basic working knowledge of compressed air and pneumatic systems is preferred. -Basic welding skill is preferred -Basic working knowledge of power drive systems is desirable. (Electric and Diesel) -CDL license for 32,000lb truck and trailer combo (no air brake certification) is of value to the position -Capacity to wear a half mask 2 cartridge respirator and be fit tested for such, facial hair may need to be shaven for proper respirator use will be required at times. -Ability to lift up to 50lbs at times is required. -Candidate will be compensated based on having a certain level of knowledge of the above criteria and/ or an ability to learn these skills from operations management. Above all else candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn the business.
