Bay Metals & Fabrication, LLC is currently seeking a full time Contracts Estimator. Needs to be a self starter that is detail oriented, organized, have good multi tasking skills, good communication skills and interpersonal skills. Will be dealing with customers regularly so must have good customer service skills. Responsible for estimating and bidding on Naval contracts, and contract administration. Position will require overseeing several contracts at one time.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project. The candidate will be familiar with our competitive advantages as an organization and will be able to communicate those to our benefit throughout the bidding process.
Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates
Qualifications
Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
1 - 3 years' of experience preferred in the ship repair/naval contracts industry
