1st Class Marine Electrician

Nationwide Skilled Trades has an opening for an experienced 1st Class Marine Electrician in Norfolk, VA! *No per diem at this time* We are in need of candidates who can work the night shift of 3-11:45pm. Requirements: 7 years Marine Electrical experience OSHA 10 Certified Must pass pre employment drug screen and background check. Qualifications/Responsibilities: Employee should be expert in Maritime Electrical work. Needs to have installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems for ships. Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment ( i.e. motors). Pull insulated wires or cables through the passage to finish circuits between boxes. Confirm correspondence to assembling and safety codes. Inspect systems, equipment to spot hazards, defects, or adjust/repair, and confirm compliance with codes. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and templates Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to put in, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures Should be able to put in, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. - Basic trade specific knowledge, such as n understanding of power tools and their usage
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the testing and repair of electrical components
- Reliability and dependability
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
