Material Expeditor (II, III)

Summary of duties – Prism Maritime, LLC is currently seeking Material Expeditors (levels II, III) to work out of their Chesapeake, VA office. The Material Expeditor (II, III) will support all aspects of logistical and material readiness requirements under minimal supervision. Provide support for logistics planning and material handling requirements. The Material Expeditor III will be responsible for requisitioning materials/services, locating and tracking current status of materials from the initial request through the final receipt and dispensation to projects as pre-determined by schedules and priorities. This individual will act as a liaison between the Program Manager, the Purchasing Department and Receiving Department ensuring the timely delivery of project materials. Review documents such as SIDS, LAR, CDR, CORN, to develop material requisitions and material status reports for each project detailing late, due, long lead time, critical and emergent materials with order status and estimated delivery dates. Identify potential delays or issues and notify the respective Program Manager. Prism Maritime is an EEO/AA employer. Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.

Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
