We are hiring experienced Shipyard Insulators to support major ship repair and shipbuilding projects in the Hampton Roads, VA area. This position involves installing, repairing, and replacing insulation on piping systems, bulkheads, ventilation, and machinery onboard naval and commercial vessels.
️ Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and install insulation materials for pipes, ducts, bulkheads, and shipboard systems

Apply lagging, coverings, and finishing materials to insulation

Remove and replace old insulation as needed

Work from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions in shipyard environments

Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively

Follow OSHA, NAVSEA, and shipyard safety guidelines while working in confined spaces and at heights
✅ Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of shipyard, marine, or industrial insulation experience

Knowledge of various insulation materials (fiberglass, foam, mineral wool, ceramic, etc.)

Ability to read and follow shipyard blueprints and specifications

Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and onboard vessels

Familiarity with fireproofing, soundproofing, and thermal insulation in shipyards

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment
