Drafter/ CAD Operator Level 1

Colonna's Shipyard is currently looking to hire a Computer Aided Design Operator to perform work in support of Facilities, Contracts, and Docking Departments.  Duties of the position include civil plan production for various projects including site layout/design, utilities layout/design, file management, preparing of bid submittal drawings, preparation of docking/undocking submittal packages to include arrival, mooring, and docking/blocking plans. Responsibilities: -Create, modify, manipulate existing drawings provided and incorporated into a shipyard standard format -Transfer/Translate field information into AutoCAD -Work with Facilities Director, Dockmaster, Contracts Department Project Managers, and Project Engineers to understand scope of work, schedule, budget, project instructions and responsibilities -Complete drawing/submittal responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy -Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in logical & well-structured manner on the shared drive. -Candidate will also work with vendors to validate products manufactured from drawings -Other duties may be assigned as workload dictates Qualifications: -3-5 years of experience in drafting & AutoCAD -Degree or certification in drafting preferred -Basic knowledge of engineering principals -Experience with SolidWorks preferred -Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fluid and dynamic environment. -Possess acute attention to detail -Ability to work quickly and accurately -Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing -Ability to work with team members to accomplish team objectives on schedule and in a deadline-driven environment. -Professional Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
