Facility Security Officer (FSO)

Purpose: • Valkyrie Enterprises, and its subsidiaries, have an immediate need for a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to play a pivotal role in support of the company’s Security program in our Virginia Beach, VA location. Job Description: • Work with an established team of FSOs and AFSOs to address the ongoing security requirements of this rapid-growth organization. • Administer the company’s current Security Standard Practice guidelines to ensure ongoing consistency and governmental compliance, always with an eye toward possible improvements. • Administer the company’s IT Program to include chairing the Insider Threat Working Group (ITWG). • Perform security-related administrative support functions to include using: o Defense Information System for Security (DISS) o National Industrial Security System (NISS) o Electronic Questionnaires for Investigation Processing (e-QIP) • Process personnel security clearances and track security clearance investigations. • Conduct security briefings, debriefings, new hire orientation, and awareness training. • Process incoming and outgoing classified storage requests and maintain all required documents. • Investigate security violations and incidents and prepare reports as appropriate. • Review DD Form 254s and generate DD Form 254s for subcontractors, ensuring flow-down requirements are met. • Conduct annual Self-inspections and prepare for Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Security Reviews, Security Monitoring Actions, and internal audits. • Process facility clearance (FCL) sponsorships as needed. • Participate in business development meetings to advise on security-related contractual requirements. • Help maintain building access control, alarm systems, and other physical facility functions. Qualifications: • Must have a BA Degree (prefer a related field) and at least 5 years of experience as a security officer OR High School diploma and 10 years’ experience as a security officer in an organization holding a facility clearance (or similar experience with the US Military). Education will be considered in lieu of experience. • Must have current FSO Certification for Possessing Facilities and other related training courses. • Must have working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM and related DoD security regulations, as well as demonstrated proficiency with Insider Threat programs. • Must have working knowledge of the DISS, NISS, e-QIP, and related government databases. • Must have a strong administrative support skills: detail-oriented, accurate, organized. • Must have leadership ability within the scope of the position including mentoring and team-building and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired Qualifications: • Prefer experience as an Information Security Systems Manager (ISSM). • Prefer experience with classified systems, system accreditation, and/or cybersecurity. • Experience with eMASS • Experience with Export Compliance EAR/ITAR and DECCS access. Security Requirements: • Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance or Top Secret in Interim. • Prefer an Active DoD Top Secret clearance. • Must be able to maintain a DoD clearance. Travel Requirements: • Occasional travel to local Hampton Roads offices. Infrequent travel to other company locations in support of the security program. • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. (More information regarding REAL ID can be found: https://www.dhs.gov/real-id ) Physical Requirements: • Requirements consistent with office/administrative work. • Will be required to travel to company facilities as needed. • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. • Communicating with others to exchange information.
