STRUCTURAL SUPERVISORS

JOB SUMMARY: This working supervisor is responsible for assuming the lead role with a small group of trade workers on assigned projects as directed by the senior Supervisor II and/or Foreman. The supervisor has the authority to make decisions involved with carrying out the below referenced responsibilities on their assigned tasks, but with little deviation from plans and goals provided by the senior Supervisor II and/or Foreman or project management personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Review, understand, and implement daily assigned plans to maintain the production schedule while minimizing the impact to the budget 2. Analyze and resolve day to day issues including personnel conflicts, safety concerns, quality issues, and material constraints 3. Assess areas of concern prior to assigning personnel to a task 4. Review concerns with the personnel 5. Implement a strategy to ensure compliance with all technical and safety requirements 6. Assists with the submittal of Condition Found Reports (CFRs) either to the Foreman for review or directly to the Project Manager/Superintendent on assigned projects 7. Assure organizational compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental, state, local and federal regulations 8. Performs other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1. Ability to work with minor direction 2. Ability to determine appropriate actions, methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for expediting results by exercising independent judgment within defined practices and policies 3. Ability to follow an organized method in approach to work while being cognizant of the time needed to provide a service or product 4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures and governmental regulations 5. Ability to write reports 6. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers 7. Strong communication skills, including oral, written and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication between management and customers 8. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations 9. Ability to read and interpret blueprints 10. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists 11. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form INDECR JOB REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School diploma or GED required 2. Three to five years related marine, shipyard or industrial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3. Must have Microsoft Office Software experience 4. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. 5. Ability to gain access to military installations. 6. Must pass a drug test and background check.
