Maintenance Repair Tech - Welder

Job Description Curtiss-Wright Fleet Solutions is comprised of three service centers that focus on the US Navy fleet support and maintenance market. The Fleet Solutions group provides turnkey overhaul / repair, testing, and parts sales for air compressors, main propulsion steam turbines, valves, steam turbine generators, auxiliary turbines, dehydrators, pumps, strainers, PLCs, blowers, and water purification. https://www.cw-ems.com/fleet-solutions/default.aspx Welder: Primary function as a Welder will be to fabricate and repair parts by welding to ASME IX codes, MIL-STD, NAVSEA technical publications and engineering welding requirements. Experience in manual, semi-automatic, automatic AC/DC welding machines and cutting equipment including shielded metal arc (SMAW, stick), gas metal arc welding (GMAW, mig), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, tig or heliarc) a plus. The Challenge: Reading and understanding drawings, sketches, blueprints prior to starting a repair project Ensure the proper materials are used to complete each project Measuring and cutting materials to project specifications Select proper welding materials to join metals together Check all finished work to ensure it meets specifications and within the tolerances marked on the blueprints Use specialized machinery for industrial welding Maintain and repair all welding machinery Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors Follow and enforce strict safety regulation such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions Support maintenance repair functions as needed Other duties as assigned Your Expertise: A valid certification in welding from an accredited institution is preferred Oracle or similar MRP System is a plus Outstanding attention to detail Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance #LI-SS1
