Thermal Spray Technician

ummary of Position

In an assigned work area, follows defined Work Station Procedures. Observes all applicable safety practices/procedures and operate 100% in compliance with the Company Quality System. Maintain all documents, records and files to support work activities.

Position Requirements

1. Experience in an industrial setting such as petrochemical or power plant, commercial construction, concrete, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, coating application, painting, or manufacturing environment preferred.

2. The demonstrated ability to perform effectively as a member of a work team and to work individually to accomplish assigned tasks.

3. Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.

4. Must have valid passport and driver's license without restriction.

5. Able to wear a full-face respirator in addition to other personal protective equipment (i.e. coveralls, work gloves, hardhat, etc.) work in confined space, high off the ground, and ability to climb scaffolding.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. In an assigned work area, performs the following tasks:

  • Sandblast and apply Thermal Spray coatings on board Naval Ships.
  • Represent company in a professional and positive manner in all situations.
  • Complete and maintain all records and documents to support work area operations.
  • Learns and follows all Company and work area safety procedures and practices. Responsible for personal work safety and the safety of the other employees in the assigned work area.
  • Wear personal protective equipment such as a full-face respirator, coveralls and steel toe boots.
  • Learns and follows all Company quality system standards to ensure finished product meets customer specifications. Is accountable to know the Company Quality Policy and the work area quality systems.
  • Based on experience in a work area, trains new or less experienced employees in all work area procedures and practices. Monitors employee performance and compliance with safety program, Work Station Procedures and Company quality systems. Guide, coach, mentor and correct as needed. Advise Supervisor or Manager of any performance issues.
  • Maintains a self-improvement program through the attendance at Company provided training programs and the completion of course work to develop individual skills, knowledge and expertise.
